Gandang Gabi Vice (Good Evening, Vice in English) is a creation of the popularity gained by standup comedian Vice Ganda (or Jose Mari Viceral in real life). Vice, who is openly gay, previously worked as a standup comedian in comedy bars. He brought the same skills that propelled him to stardom to Gandang Gabi Vice. The show features Vice's interviews with media and showbiz personalities, as well as with politicians and popular figures in current events. In his one-on-one interviews, Vice tries to cajole his interviewees into doing things they would not normally do like acting, singing and dancing. It also has interactive segments wherein the audience is allowed to participate in Vice's interviews. Taking off from the wit and humor of comedy bars, Vice uses his signature sarcastic repertoire to make his audience and viewers laugh. The beginning of the show always show Vice's dancing and singing chops as he performs the latest song craze for that week. After his performance, Vice introduces the guests for that week and proceeds to interview them with his usual sarcastic humor. Before the show ends, Gandang Gabi Vice shows the host giving advice to those who posted questions in the show's Facebook and Twitter pages. Called Vice Advice, he tries to answer all the questions he can in one minute in a hilarious manner that often showcases Vice's quick-wittedness. Gandang Gabi Vice aired its pilot episode on May 22, 2011. The show was supposed to be cancelled after the first season but because of numerous feedbacks from the viewers, the show was renewed for its second season. Gandang Gabi Vice airs on ABS-CBN every Sunday at 10:15 p.m. right after Sarah G. Live.
